Someone wants her to suffer, but for what? Her articles have made her a popular local champion—could it be her past rather than her work that’s put her life in danger? Alice is determined not to give in to fear, but with the police investigation at a dead end, her boyfriend insists on hiring private investigator Matthew Hill.
With every Wednesday the warnings escalate, until it’s not only Alice but also her family in the stalker’s sights. As her tormentor closes in, can Alice uncover what she’s being punished for before the terrifying threats become an unthinkable reality?
I received a digital advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have two words for this book: Completely Unpredictable. I read this book in less than a day and I was on the edge of my seat the WHOLE TIME. The plot is not cheesy or predictable at all. There is not a lot of gore or vulgar language, it is just a solid thriller.
I really thought the best part about this book is that parts of it were written from the criminal’s perspective. It almost confuses you into empathizing with the criminal and you try to justify their actions as well.
There are so many solid twists and turns in this story and it makes for a great page turner. The characters were well developed and the plot was seamless. I loved the multiple timelines. The story itself builds very quickly. I really did not expect the twist on who the stalker was. It had me completely floored.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to review this amazing book. I loved it.
